Sneaky me decided to hop on the scale today

Like the title says, I was being sneaky today because why not, and I decided to hop on the scale today. Official weigh-in day is Monday (still a couple of days away) but what the hey. For some reason, I felt “light” today. You ever have those days? Where you just think you weigh less even though you have no physical or actual proof?

The worst time to weigh yourself is after you eat because you have all that food trying to settle and it’s just not good for the scale. Of course, feeling “lighter”, I’d just eaten a delicious turkey club on low-carb bread (only 1 carb per slice!) and it was definitely trying to settle.

What did the scale say?

The scale agreed! Me being sneaky paid off because I DID weigh less! For the past few weeks, I’ve only been losing a pound a week. I know, I know. I should be happy but I could lose a pound a week just cutting calories but gosh darnit, I’m doing low carb, keto! These pounds (and fat) should be MELTING off of me. At this size (I’m still a big girl), if my weight loss slows to a measly pound per week, I’m doomed when I start to become slimmer. The weight will almost not come off at all.

So, what did it really say?

My last week’s “official weigh-in” was 217.4. Today I was 214.2, so that’s 3.2 pounds lost this week! And it’s not even my official weigh in day which is still two days away! I’m so friggin’ excited. Yes! Go me!

What I did differently this week….

Stuck the for the last couple of weeks, I decided this week I’d try something different to limit my food intake (I’ll be honest, I was struggling with my caloric intake) and confuse my body. I did intermittent fasting; 18 hours of no eating with a 6-hour window of eating my daily limit of calories. Due to my size, I’m supposed to have around 1,400 calories per day to achieve weight loss, but with only eating within a 6-hour window, I found it hard to get in all 1,400 so I usually consumed about 1,100.

One more thing I did different.

I cut out my morning coffees this week. It’s not many calories or carbs, but I think skipping it seemed to help somehow. Normally, I have two cups of coffee in the morning with my EZ-Sweetz and a little HWC and a tbsp or two of Cool Whip, but since it didn’t fit into my IF (intermittent fasting), I didn’t have it.
