Peanut Butter Buffalo Wings

If you love peanut butter, like my husband does, you’re going to love peanut butter buffalo wings. My husband is seriously addicted to his chicken wings, and for the most part, it has allowed him to drop almost 25 pounds in two months. It seems here lately that he’s been on a chicken wing and cheesecake kick. I constantly tease him that people are going to ask how he’s losing all of his weight and his answer’s going to be, “Eating chicken wings and cheesecake”. Nobody will believe him, except us keto’ers, but it’s true.

What goes into peanut butter buffalo wings?

The recipe’s pretty simple and only calls for a few ingredients. As you can imagine, peanut butter buffalo wings has the ingredients right in the name. Well, most of them. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Wings
  • Frank’s Red Hot
  • Butter
  • Peanut Butter

Personally, I don’t like peanut butter all that much but my husband ensures that peanut butter factories will never close. He says the hot sauce recipe ensures that the peanut butter buffalo wings still have some heat to them, but the peanut butter adds a hint of sweetness. As much as I don’t care for peanut butter, I can’t deny that the wings look delicious.

If you’re more like the wifey, you can still make this recipe to create delicious hot wings by omitting the peanut butter. When we make this, which is sometimes every other day, hubby makes once batch of sauce to coat my wings (about 10), and then he does his. If he’s making it for the whole family, he makes two batches of sauce: one regular and one peanut butter. You still use the same recipe that’s listed below, but you leave out the peanut butter.

Clean up is kind of messy because the peanut butter sticks to everything. One tip that I didn’t write on the recipe card is to ensure constant stirring when you make the sauce on the stove top so it doesn’t stick and burn to the pan.
