Big Loss On the Scale This Week!

Wow! I can’t believe my big loss on the scale this week. Here it is, 3:30 in the afternoon and 8 hours after I’ve weighed in, I’m still awing over the number. A few days ago, I posted that I was feeling lighter so I’d snuck onto the scale early and was pleasantly surprised. Imagine today when I got on the scale and saw an even greater weight loss.

How much did I lose?

My big loss was a whopping six pounds! This is no easy feat for a lady my size. That’s almost a pound a day! And while I’m not proud of what I’m about to admit, I did not exercise this week. We’ve been so swamped with work that I’ve had very little time to do anything but work, clean and take care of the kids.¬†Here lately, hubby and I have been taking walks with our youngest minion or doing yard work for exercise. And I don’t care who you are, yard work is exercise.

What was different this week?

A few things were different this week. For starters, in my earlier post that I mentioned, I did IF (intermittent fasting). While I did IF, I consumed fewer calories than I normally do and that was mainly because it was hard to get them all in with only eating two meals per day. But even during a “normal” day, I try to stick below my recommended macros to ensure weight loss. In addition to that, I cut out my morning coffees with HWC and cool whip, and I increased my water intake by 2-3 glasses per day.

One more contributing factor to my big loss….

I hardly ever snack. Early on, I learned that snacking is BAD–no matter how “healthy” it is. Sure, it’s nice to have an occasional snack every now and then, but not on a daily basis. If I had to guess, during a typical keto week, I might have 2-3 snacks per week. This past week, when I saw my big number, I did ZERO snacking. At all. If I got hungry, I waited until I was hungry enough to make a meal and then I ate.

Here’s to (hopefully) another good number next week. I’ve officially lost more than 20 pounds now (22 lbs) since starting at the beginning of the New Year (1-2-17 to be exact) and it’s only been 6 weeks.
