I just wanted to jump on here and share that I had my first non-scale victory on the ketogenic diet today. A couple of years ago, I decided to take my wife to a concert to celebrate her birthday. She wanted us both to look nice, so she went to the mall to get us some new clothes. I had no clue what size jeans I wore, so she got me a couple of pairs to try.
Well, the biggest pair won out. I ended up wearing a 48×30. Well, I take that back. They were a relaxed fit jean because a regular 48×30 wouldn’t fit. For a big guy, I rocked those jeans though and the two of us had a blast at the concert!
Every once in a while, I’d eyeball those smaller jeans in the closet. They are a 46×30 regular fit. I actually tried them on about a month ago and they didn’t fit. In fact, I’m pretty sure they were laughing at me as I tried to button them. Evil jeans.
For some reason, I decided that I was going to try again today. I’m excited to say that not only did I succeed in getting the pants on, buttoned and zipped, but they fit well enough that I was actually able to wear them out of the house. Comfortably. I’ve been kind of bummed because my weight loss seems to have slowed down quite a bit, but being able to wear these jeans reaffirms the fact that weight-loss is about much more than the weight on the
So what does this show me? Well, I’ve been kind of bummed because my weight loss seems to have slowed down quite a bit, but being able to wear these jeans reaffirms the fact that weight-loss is about much more than the number on the scale. I’m actually losing inches, even if the scale isn’t moving as fast as you’d like it to.
Do you have any non-scale victories you’d like to share? If so, I can talk about them in an upcoming blog. Just drop me an email to email@example.com and tell me about it!
